We had a White Christmas!!

What a nice surprise this year with a White Christmas in North Texas!! BekahBoo had such a fun time playing in it! In fact some days now she will wake up, go to the door, open the blinds and yell "its snowing!" I say probably not again until next year and maybe not this much for a couple years. We usually get at least one day with a little snow, but this was a snow blizzard!
All bundled up and ready to go play!

Christmas Parties

Bekah Laney sat with Mrs. Claus and my work childrens party. She did not want anything to do with Santa. In fact, she was staring him down for most of the pics until we asked her where daddy was and then snapped this one quick:)

This is a pic of her at her school Christmas party. She is in the back with her friends, Keira and Adison. The girls were so cute. At snack, Adison asked Bekah if she was her friend and she said yes:) Myles (the boy in the blue shirt) is also her friend that she talks about to us. She is really enjoying her new school!

A Very Happy Thanksgiving

Pelfrey Family November 2009

We had a great, fun, busy Thanksgiving this year! Usually we all go to Orange for Christmas but this year we got together for Thanksgiving instead (yum b/c I just love Dads cajun smoked turkey). Dan and Heather drove from Utah and picked us up in Denton and drove us to Orange.
It was so nice to not drive and just be a passenger this time:) I had so many plans to do while I was in town but unfortunately I caught a stomach virus and was in bed for 2 days....did to get to eat a little thanksgiving dinner. But the best best news is:
We are super excited for Heather & Dan since they are expecting their first baby in June 2010!!! Can't wait for Bex to have another cousin & I just love being an Aunt!!

Just the 5 of us!
Getting the camera set-up pics:
and the 3 munchkins
Bekah and Trista just have the best time when they are together! I sure wish they could play more together but I am so thankful for the time that we do get to spend together. happy girls
Just the 3 kids! oh and yes to the right there is Trista holding up Copper her new puppy
Yes it was not all play especially for John who worked 2 days we were there and Dan who was busy putting cabinets up, staining, and installing countertops. It looks great and I am sure Mom and Dad are really going to enjoy them!
oh and the not so fun job at all....digging and installing new pipes for the septic system. Thanks Dan we can all thank you for this one! :)
Bex was so excited to see Aunt Heather she went right up and laid on her. So sweet.

On Thanksgiving day we got to go the John's Dads house and enjoy Ginnys yummy cooking! We got to see their remodeling jobs that really look great. Bekah had fun running around Grandpa & Grandmas backyard and kept saying she was "running through the forrest" (they have lots of trees in the backyard:) Bekah also had a fun time playing with her cousin Samantha.

John's new hobby

As most of you know John started a new hobby- wakeboarding- about a year ago. Now his newest hobby is wakeskating! Here are some pics of when Bex and I went to watch him at Trinity River in Ft. Worth.

***here is a link to a great video of john and yes is he okay from that last fall***
I wanted to get a little exercise myself that day so Bex and I took a walk/run through Trinity Park. It was such a beautiful day. high 70's in november...gotta love it! So we played at the park awhile and then rode on the train. There were a couple of kids sitting in front of us and Bekah asked the one girl "whats your name? I am Bekah and this is mommie" It was too cute! here is a pic of her on the train.
And one last one, once again into mommies make-up! I think I will be getting her a set of play make-up for christmas and maybe she will leave mine alone :)

October Fun

This month has been busy for us. We have really started looking hard at houses so most weekends have been spent doing that. We have already made 2 offers but nothing has worked out yet....hopefully the 3rd time is the charm! We did go to my home for Halloween and to celebrate my niece Trista Jade's 4th birthday!!! I still can't believe she is so big. I remember the first time I saw her and how stunned I was by how beautiful she is. She is the first Pelfrey cousin and we are soooo happy she is! I just love my Trista Jade!!! and Bekahbear loves her too! I was really bummed after the party to discover that all the pictures I had taken that night of Bekahs first time to trick or treat were gone! I guess one of the kidos got ahold of it but luckily my mom had taken some. Hope you enjoy the slideshow.

Open House

John and I were able to go to Rebekah's open house at her school. I wasn't sure how she would feel about going back to school after I picked her up so I told her we were going to meet Daddy and then eat dinner at Chikfila:) To my surprise she was excited to go to school and she ran to her teacher Mrs. Demi. Mrs. Demi showed us the papers they have been working on and showed us Bekah's favorite toy with the animals! She was so excited to show us and name and make the sound of all of them. My babygirl is so grown up! It is exciting to see how much she is learning at school. We are very proud of her! and later as promised we went to Chikfila....yummy!

New job

Bex is all ready to go see Daddy at work. She has on Mommies rings and put on a little of Mommies lipstick!:)

John started his new job this month! He really likes working with the guys he went to UNT with & is enjoying learning new programs. The drive is far but we are hoping to move closer and he will have the option to work from home once he is comfortable with the work. Bex and I have been meeting him for lunch one day a week. Here is a pic of the first time we went and the ducks followed us to eat. This picture doesn't show all of the ducks but they all swam/flew in to us! I am sure they have the drill down on how to get some bread:) Bex loves going to "feed ducks at daddys work!"

This pic is the pond that the ducks followed us as we walked around. What a nice view!

Fun weekend in Austin

We had the BEST time on our trip to Austin for Labor day weekend. We were so lucky to meet up with our dear friends the Arriagas. Raymond & John used to work together at Paradigm many moons ago and Alma & I were quick friends too. We have many many great memories with them when we were all dating and married. It was great to now see our kids play together! We went out to dinner Friday night at a restaurant that had a gymset in the back for the kidos to play while you ate dinner and could watch them....genious idea! It was fun to catch up and pretend that we were young again:) The next day they showed us Zilker park and we all took a ride on the train. I have many pictures so I posted one and will add a link at the end of my post of all the great photos. We love and miss ya'll Arriagas! The JRo's had a fabulous time!! the pic below is the dads giving the girls swing rides...

Later that day on Saturday we were meeting my family at a local hotel. My mom had the great idea to have us all meet in Austin for the weekend and she would use her Marriott hotel points to get us all rooms! we sure couldn't pass that up!:) So Michael and family got there right after we did and we were all checking out the pools and walked into the lobby and ran into DANIEL & HEATHER!! I was surprised but had a feeling that they might make a surprise visit:) they are known to do this! So now Mom & Dad had the whole crew there!! My mom was super happy!!
It was a great time with the family! Here is our generation photo:

We took the fam back out to Zilker park the next day. We had a great time! First we took the kidos on the train ride. Then we went on canoe rides on Lady Lake...I wish I would have taken pics of this! I canoed with Madison & Shelby and well we got stuck a few times but we did make it eventually:) Michael & Tara took Trista & Joshua and the kids were sooo good! Dan, Heather, & John went before us...they act like they don't have any kids to entertain:) Then we went to go swimming at Barton Springs...where the water is like 68degrees! Most of the adults went but Buddy was not a fan and Trista did not last long either. Then we had some great BBQ for dinner.
The next day we went to drive downtown to go shopping but the shops were closed for labor day....bummer! but we saw the capital. We then took the scenic ride home through the hill country and to Fredericksburg. Sure wish we had more time to visit....maybe next trip!

We had such a great time this weekend! I think the kids just enjoyed going from room to room at the hotel to visit each other...especially Trista & Bekah. It was a great trip and it was soooo great to see my family again! I still think we all need to move there or get a vacation home there:) Austin/Hill Country is just a beautiful place to be.

New school

**this is a picture in her new school uniform...we think she is too cute**
John found a great prep school in Lewisville for Rebekah to go to part-time this year. We felt she really needed a more structured atmosphere & to be around more children her age. She just loves to color, read books, and play with other children. Every day we get a report on how well she eats, potty times, books they read, and papers they color. John usually drops her off and I pick her up. She will come running from her classroom with backpack on and papers in hand yelling "mommie mommie" She seems to really enjoy her new school and they just love her there! They have music time and have had local puppets come for a show. One day last week when I picked her up I stayed outside her classroom door and watched through the window...Bekah was sitting up front watching her teacher flip through flash cards...she was being so good & I felt so proud of her & am so excited to see her grow this year. The director said she can tell that we have been working with her at home because she talks so well for a 2 year old! This is a great match for Bex this year and we can't wait to see how much she will learn & grow.

25 months old

Bekah Laney is 25 months old! Time sure does fly by....but in a good way! It is so hard to believe that she is already over 2 but at the same time it is so hard to believe there was a time that she wasn't here in our lives. She is talking so much more now and is becoming more independant....which can also be a struggle some days but she is learning how to test us and we are learning patience:)
We took her out to TWU campus to take some pictures. This is a great spot for pictures and it is also where I went to school and where John and I were married. We also took Bex here last year for her 1 year photos. I think this will be a great tradition for her each year to take pics in the gardens. This year I think she enjoyed it much more running around looking at the water fountain, flowers, and rocks. Here are a few of our favorites from that day.....

dallas arboretium

We had a great time visiting the Dallas Arboretium. It was our first time to go and you can't beat dollar days! They had some great setups of childrens stories and John took lots of pics of the beautiful flowers. It was pretty hot that day but we were surprised to find a fun water area for the kids to play in! So we told Bekah to pose and smile before we got wet....man bribery really works:) and mommie was refreshed also. It is so nice having us all home together this summer!!
