New job

Bex is all ready to go see Daddy at work. She has on Mommies rings and put on a little of Mommies lipstick!:)

John started his new job this month! He really likes working with the guys he went to UNT with & is enjoying learning new programs. The drive is far but we are hoping to move closer and he will have the option to work from home once he is comfortable with the work. Bex and I have been meeting him for lunch one day a week. Here is a pic of the first time we went and the ducks followed us to eat. This picture doesn't show all of the ducks but they all swam/flew in to us! I am sure they have the drill down on how to get some bread:) Bex loves going to "feed ducks at daddys work!"

This pic is the pond that the ducks followed us as we walked around. What a nice view!

Fun weekend in Austin

We had the BEST time on our trip to Austin for Labor day weekend. We were so lucky to meet up with our dear friends the Arriagas. Raymond & John used to work together at Paradigm many moons ago and Alma & I were quick friends too. We have many many great memories with them when we were all dating and married. It was great to now see our kids play together! We went out to dinner Friday night at a restaurant that had a gymset in the back for the kidos to play while you ate dinner and could watch them....genious idea! It was fun to catch up and pretend that we were young again:) The next day they showed us Zilker park and we all took a ride on the train. I have many pictures so I posted one and will add a link at the end of my post of all the great photos. We love and miss ya'll Arriagas! The JRo's had a fabulous time!! the pic below is the dads giving the girls swing rides...

Later that day on Saturday we were meeting my family at a local hotel. My mom had the great idea to have us all meet in Austin for the weekend and she would use her Marriott hotel points to get us all rooms! we sure couldn't pass that up!:) So Michael and family got there right after we did and we were all checking out the pools and walked into the lobby and ran into DANIEL & HEATHER!! I was surprised but had a feeling that they might make a surprise visit:) they are known to do this! So now Mom & Dad had the whole crew there!! My mom was super happy!!
It was a great time with the family! Here is our generation photo:

We took the fam back out to Zilker park the next day. We had a great time! First we took the kidos on the train ride. Then we went on canoe rides on Lady Lake...I wish I would have taken pics of this! I canoed with Madison & Shelby and well we got stuck a few times but we did make it eventually:) Michael & Tara took Trista & Joshua and the kids were sooo good! Dan, Heather, & John went before us...they act like they don't have any kids to entertain:) Then we went to go swimming at Barton Springs...where the water is like 68degrees! Most of the adults went but Buddy was not a fan and Trista did not last long either. Then we had some great BBQ for dinner.
The next day we went to drive downtown to go shopping but the shops were closed for labor day....bummer! but we saw the capital. We then took the scenic ride home through the hill country and to Fredericksburg. Sure wish we had more time to visit....maybe next trip!

We had such a great time this weekend! I think the kids just enjoyed going from room to room at the hotel to visit each other...especially Trista & Bekah. It was a great trip and it was soooo great to see my family again! I still think we all need to move there or get a vacation home there:) Austin/Hill Country is just a beautiful place to be.

New school

**this is a picture in her new school uniform...we think she is too cute**
John found a great prep school in Lewisville for Rebekah to go to part-time this year. We felt she really needed a more structured atmosphere & to be around more children her age. She just loves to color, read books, and play with other children. Every day we get a report on how well she eats, potty times, books they read, and papers they color. John usually drops her off and I pick her up. She will come running from her classroom with backpack on and papers in hand yelling "mommie mommie" She seems to really enjoy her new school and they just love her there! They have music time and have had local puppets come for a show. One day last week when I picked her up I stayed outside her classroom door and watched through the window...Bekah was sitting up front watching her teacher flip through flash cards...she was being so good & I felt so proud of her & am so excited to see her grow this year. The director said she can tell that we have been working with her at home because she talks so well for a 2 year old! This is a great match for Bex this year and we can't wait to see how much she will learn & grow.
